How we keep BQAC a safer space for bi/queer people in Chicago.
BQAC exists to build a genuine community for bisexual and queer people in Chicago. These guidelines protect that mission. All members — and BQAC itself — are held to them equally.
Use the names and pronouns members provide on their profiles. Intentional misgendering or deadnaming is a violation of these guidelines and may result in account suspension.
Sharing another member's identity — their sexuality, gender, or relationship status — without their explicit consent is a serious safety violation.
This applies to conversations inside and outside the platform. Violations may result in immediate account removal.
Members trust BQAC with sensitive personal information. Protecting that trust is non-negotiable.
Do not send unwanted messages, make threats, make unwanted sexual advances, or target members in any way. If someone asks you to stop contacting them, stop.
Hate speech of any kind is not tolerated. This includes bi-erasure, transphobia, racism, ableism, and any other form of discrimination. BQAC is for everyone in our community.
These guidelines apply at all BQAC events — virtual and in-person. BQAC representatives may ask members to leave an event for conduct violations and may follow up with account action.
Use the Report button on any member's profile to flag a concern directly in the app. You can also email info@bqachicago.org. Reports are confidential.
Reports are reviewed by BQAC admin within 48 hours. You will receive a follow-up email acknowledging your report. We take all reports seriously and respond proportionally to the severity of the violation.
These free, confidential resources are available 24/7.
